As of now China is not big on tennis map of the world, but the sports has a huge recognition in mainland and officials have spend quite a money in past to build the facilities. The new tennis stadium in Olympic Green with a shape of bloomed lotus just recommends the same. The venue has 10 courts three among them have the shape of a lotus. The central court has a capacity to hold 10,000 spectators while number one court seats 4000 and number two 2000. There are another 1,400 seats that fill 7 remaining courts.

The designers have made the stands steeper so that front rows don’t block the view. The height between the rows is 9cm instead of 6cm which is a normal standard.

The main court which is biggest is sustained by 48 sloping beams, weighing 62 tons and has a length of 17 meters.
The petals have been designed in such a way so that stadium has greater ventilation and according to organizers this helps in reducing venue temperature by 5 degree Celsius. One more aspect which places
Beijing Olympic Green Tennis Court in accordance with Green Olympics is usage of used water through membrane biological reactors. The recycled water will be used to moist tennis center foliage.

As the venue also host the Paralympics events a special thought has been given to trouble free washrooms and seats. People with a disability will be sitting alternatively with normal people as special seats have been developed which allows a room for such people to see matches just as ordinary people.

As Olympics are in the month of August the hottest in Beijing, the automatic sun shading curtains attached to the roof will shade quadrangular orifices between the petals of Green Tennis Court.
